Awareness
Pay attention!
Being aware of one's surroundings is essential to our well-being. Noticing the presence of an unexpected step, a speeding car, or a stranger to your neighborhood can result in the prevention of an accident or other unfortunate occurrence.
Observation is the basis for all of our daily activities.
Sensory awareness involves paying attention to what we see, hear, taste, smell, and touch.
"It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see." -- Thoreau
"They have ears, but they hear not." -- Psalms
"Might I live to see in thy touch, I'd say I had eyes again." -- Shakespeare, King Lear
". . . but a sentiment might uncoil in the heart at a name, a photograph, even a smell remembered." -- Graham Greene
Lack of attention or concentration can cause memory lapses.
